Samsung has finally introduced the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with major improvements like the Flex Hinge and the Flex Window. The South Korean tech giant has also launched the new Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Watch 6 Series and the Galaxy Tab S9 Series at the Unpacked event.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 Specifications
The Z Flip 5 foldable smartphone is the latest flagship phone that runs on the latest Android 13 software and has a special Samsung interface called One UI 5.1.1. For your information, Samsung introduces this new foldable with Armor Aluminum for better durability.
The phone has two screens. The main screen measures a big 6.7-inch display, and it shows everything in really clear high-definition. It can refresh really fast and smoothly with its 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The cover display of Galaxy Z Flip 5 measures a huge 3.4-inch screen that shows basic information and notifications. Both screens are tough and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Samsung also promised to optimize the third-party apps on the cover screen of the newly launched flip phone. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is powered by a special fast processor called Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform, made just for Samsung phones. It also has 8GB of memory, which helps it work well with many apps.
The camera on this phone is excellent! There are two cameras on the back for taking pictures. One is for wide views, and the other is for regular photos. And there’s a front camera for selfies and video calls. The main 12MP module has a 1/1.76” sensor with huge 1.8µm pixels with Dual Pixel AF, the f/1.8 lens offers OIS. Also here is a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 123° lens (1.12µm pixels).
It comes with a 10MP shooter with an 85° lens (f/2.2, 1.22µm pixels). You can choose between two storage options: 256GB or 512GB, which is plenty of space for all your photos, videos, and apps. It has lots of ways to connect to the internet and other devices, like 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a strong battery that charges really fast with 25W fast charging. You can charge it from zero to 50 percent in just 30 minutes! And it can even charge other devices wirelessly. When it’s folded, the phone is small, measuring 71.9×165.1×6.9mm, and when unfolded, it’s a bit bigger at 71.9×85.1×15.1mm. Meanwhile, it’s not heavy at all, just 187 grams, so it’s easy to carry around with you wherever you go.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 goes on pre-order today (July 26, 2023) and the official sales will begin on August 11. In the UK, the 256GB variant will sell for £1,050, and the 512GB one for £1,150.
