Sony has now introduced a new PlayStation 5 (PS5) feature to simplify inviting players to multiplayer sessions. The company has announced that PS5 players can generate a shareable invite link on their PS5 consoles or PlayStation app in the coming months.
Sony Makes Multiplayer Invites Easier for PS5 Users
The shareable link will take the receiver directly to the sender’s multiplayer session and start playing. For the uninitiated, currently, PS5 users need to add players to their PSN or PlayStation Network profile to play multiplayer games with them.
The new feature is designed to complement the existing methods of joining a multiplayer session from within a PS5 game. The feature will be available for any supported PS5 games.
PS5 users must generate a QR code from the game lobby and scan it using the PlayStation app on their smartphone to generate the link. The link can be directly generated from the PlayStation app itself. The receiver must have the PlayStation app installed and logged in to join the multiplayer session.
