Taylor Swift Fans Frantically Search for Four New Songs, Including Unreleased Track and Re-Recordings, Sparking Social Media Outcry

On Thursday, Taylor Swift announced to her fans via Instagram that she would be releasing four new tracks at midnight on Friday. She gifted her fans with a “Taylor’s Version” re-recording of three songs: “Eyes Open,” “Safe & Sound,” and “If This Was a Movie.”

This has become a tradition for the singer as she continues to release updated versions of her early work. Additionally, she unveiled “All the Girls You Loved Before,” a previously unreleased track that she felt was finally ready for public consumption.

Two of the songs were originally recorded for the 2012 movie, The Hunger Games, while the third was a re-recording of a song from her 2010 album Speak Now. The fourth and final track was a previously unreleased song from her 2019 album Lover.

This announcement was part of Swift’s larger effort to reclaim control of her music catalog, specifically the first five albums she released under her former record label, Big Machine Records. The master recordings of her early work were sold to a media company owned by Scooter Braun, a man Swift has accused of “incessant, manipulative bullying.” This led Swift to re-record her early work in a bid to own her own music and prevent Braun and the new owners of her catalog from profiting off her work.

Since then, Swift has asked her fans to support her efforts by listening to and buying the re-recorded versions of her music, which she has dubbed “Taylor’s Version.” She has since released two re-recorded albums, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version), which have been incredibly well-received by fans.

The song ‘All the Girls’ was originally intended for Taylor Swift’s 7th album, ‘Lover,’ but it still needs to make the final cut. However, the song recently became known to fans when it was leaked on TikTok last month. Now, the full track has been officially released just in time for the start of Taylor’s Eras Tour, which begins tonight in Glendale, AZ. The song is a love ballad where Taylor openly expresses her love for her long-term partner Joe Alwyn.

In the chorus, Taylor sings about how grateful she is for the past loves in Joe’s life that ultimately led him to her. Taylor and Joe have been romantically linked since 2016, and although they keep a low profile, they are known to be very close. As the tour kicks off amidst controversy surrounding the Ticketmaster presale, it is expected that Joe will be supporting Taylor from behind the scenes.”
