According to the latest report by Counterpoint Research, the world’s best-selling smartphone rankings in the first quarter of 2024 were divided between Apple and Samsung, each occupying 5 seats. There is an obvious trend towards high-end on the list, with 7 of the top 10 smartphones being high-end ($600 and above).
Top 10 best-selling mobile phone in Q1 2024
Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max was the best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of 2024. Notably, the Pro Max version topped the list for the first time in Apple’s non-seasonal quarter, reflecting consumers’ growing preference for high-end smartphones. All four iPhone 15 models are among the top 10 best-sellers, and the iPhone 15 series is firmly in the top three.
The popularity of the iPhone Pro series is obvious, accounting for half of Apple’s total sales in the first quarter of 2024, a significant increase from 24% in the first quarter of 2020. iPhone Pro has become Apple’s main revenue driver, contributing more than 60% of Apple’s revenue.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series occupies two spots in the top ten in Q1 2024, with the Ultra version ranking fifth and the standard version ranking ninth.
