As per the latest report from Bloomberg, two scientists from Google’s AI unit DeepMind have negotiated with investors to establish an AI startup in Paris.

According to sources familiar with the matter, two scientists have already discussed a round of financing with potential investors, and the amount is expected to exceed 200 million euros or 220 million US dollars. For a field such as artificial intelligence that has attracted much attention, this can be regarded as a “huge sum of money . ”
The report gave the names of two scientists: Laurent Sifre and Karl Tuyls. The two are currently in talks to form a new company, tentatively called Holistic. People familiar with the matter said the company may focus on building a new large AI model. At the same time, the two have resigned from the company.
Laurent Sifre participated in the 2016 DeepMind research on Go. In the same year, the AI Go program AlphaGo triggered the global “AI craze”. Karl Tuyls has been studying game theory and multi-agent reinforcement learning for a long time – this is a branch of AI.
Both are regarded by the industry as leaders in their respective fields . According to reports, the “extraordinary” financing currently under discussion further proves investors’ strong interest in AI, especially those in France. Startups emerging from Paris universities and Silicon Valley have received funding from local venture capitalists and business tycoons.
Apart from that, Google is planning to address that, with two Pixel Watch 3 sizes in development for this year.
While the Pixel Watch 2 had key specification upgrades over the original, Google largely kept the same design, including the 41 mm diameter and 12.3 mm thickness. The crown is the main visual difference, but you otherwise have to look at the underside sensor stack to tell the two apart. At this point, we’re not yet aware of any plans by Google to differentiate functionality between the two sizes beyond the screen and maybe a slightly larger battery. The recent reorganization of Fitbit and Google hardware should not impact product development in the short term, though plans can obviously shift before launch.
