Volvo teases its first 100% electric minivan, the EM90

Volvo’s first all-electric minivan is paving its way to come, as the Swedish automaker teased its electric EM90 minivan recently. The company claims it is like a “Scandinavian living room on the move.”

As revealed by Qin Peiji, president of Volvo Cars Greater China. We are already aware Volvo was deliberately working on its electric minivan. He also stated the automaker’s EV plans during a slide presentation earlier this year.

The electric minivan will soon hit the roads

The presentation demonstrates the six different Volvo electric vehicles. Whereby, it comprises the models, the XC40 and C40 Recharge, the flagship EX90, a souped-up EX90 Excellence, a small SUV, and an electric minivan. Volvo publicly disclosed the electric minivan is on its way and will soon hit the roads. The information is revealed for the very first time officially.

As mentioned by the company, the all-new EM90 is “designed for you to make the most of the time spent in the car, like a Scandinavian living room on the move.” In addition to the above info, the Volvo electric EM90 will make its official debut on November 12, 2023, officially. Also, the Pre-order will begin the same day for customers in China.

Anticipated features of Volvo’s first electric minivan

With an umbrella of brands under the hood, alongside ZEEKR, Polestar, and others. The forthcoming EM90 will be majorly based on the ZEEKR 009 MPV.

When it comes to 009, it catches the eye with its boxy design, intelligent grille, and interactive front face with 154 LED lights. This is based on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform. It is available in two variants, whereby the buyer can opt for a 116 kWh battery pack with 436 miles / 700 km range. Or else they can opt for the 140 kWh battery with up to 510 miles / 822 km of range.

Meanwhile, further information is supposed to come in the coming time. Eventually following Volvo’s first electric minivan’s official debut in November.
