Xiaomi is all set to launch a new operating system called HyperOS. The company CEO Lei Jun calls Xiaomi HyperOS the result of “years of collective work”. The all new HyperOS is set to launch alongside the Xiaomi 14 lineup.
HyperOS will be the MIUI replacement?
We’ve been hearing some rumors about a new Xiaomi operating system (OS) called MiOS. We’ve also seen some new trademarks for names like ‘Xiaomi Pengpai’ and ‘Xiaomi Hyper’. Now, we know it’s officially called HyperOS.
Jun, a Xiaomi official, confirmed on Weibo that HyperOS will gradually replace MIUI, which is Xiaomi’s current operating system. He also mentioned that the Xiaomi 14 series of smartphones will be the first to use HyperOS. These phones are currently in production, and they already have HyperOS as their software.
Xiaomi could take a leaf out of Vivo’s playbook whereby it could launch phones with two different operating systems for different markets. Vivo keeps its Origin OS exclusive to Mainland China and ships Funtouch OS in global markets including India.
Xiaomi HyperOS release details
When an X user asked Lei Jun about the global release of HyperOS, the latter replied, “Stay Tuned“. This doesn’t confirm its international availability but insinuates a possibility.
