According to the official document from Zoom’s updated terms of service, it showcased that the company is going to start using some customer data to train its AI model or machine learning model. This change has already started appearing on its core model from last month.

Zoom bringing new change to its AI model

From the company’s perspective view, the change may not come under the major algorithm but yes the “service-generated data” is surely training its AI using customer information on product usage, telemetry and diagnostic data, and similar content or data collected by the company. So, deleting the account is the only option you can choose.

You consent to Zoom’s access, use, collection, creation, modification, distribution, processing, sharing, maintenance, and storage of Service Generated Data for any purpose, to the extent and in the manner permitted under applicable Law, including for the purpose of product and service development, marketing, analytics, quality assurance, machine learning or artificial intelligence (including for the purposes of training and tuning of algorithms and models).

This means that the things you write, the files you share, and your documents won’t be part of this. Zoom also made it clear that they won’t use what you say in audio or video calls, or in chats, to teach their computer program. But there’s something worrying – they say they won’t use these things “without customer consent.” This is concerning because it’s not clear when customers can decide if they want to let Zoom use this stuff or not.
