Alaska, the first electric pickup truck from an American automaker, Fisker Inc., and now it seems like the company wants to make this BEV to be a source of attention. Since, the automaker freshly shared some of its details, which comprise, battery options, 0-60 mph estimates, and a few new images.
Although, we do not have much of specific details about Alaska pickup, as it gets launched recently. Earlier, there has been information with respect to the automaker’s other EVs including PEAR and Ronin GT. But, Alaska took special attention during Fisker’s inaugural Product Vision Day in Southern California.
Fisker’s Alaska will come in two very different options
With its initial product launch during Product Vision Day, we came to know that Fisker Alaska would offer between 230 and 340 miles of range. Alongside, it is housed with two separate battery options. Now, it got confirmed those revealing range estimates related to battery packs of 75 kWh and 113 kWh, respectively.
It is also anticipated to have single and dual motor options. Since Fisker has also revealed that the Alaska pickup will significantly offer 0-60 mph acceleration times ranging between 3.9 and 7.2 seconds. Moving ahead, another exciting feature is the pickup’s expandable truck bed that demonstrates a “Houdini style” rear door like its PEAR sibling, extending the rear from 4.5 to 9.2 feet. As per company chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker:
Alaska breaks with convention. It doesn’t fit into any current segment, as it combines features of a mid-size pickup with the capabilities of a full-size thanks to its innovative expandable bed design.
Furthermore, as of now, it doesn’t fit any present segment. Since it doesn’t exist beyond a single prototype at this point. However, we will be going to see it in the coming future. Moving forward, below are some other interesting new details:
- The total length of 17.4 feet
- Big Gulp holder on the dashboard, the “world’s largest,” according to Fisker (seen above)
- Rear cowboy hat holder (finally)
- Cockpit storage for work gloves (or cowboy snacks)
- A front passenger tray that can hold a tablet
- Insulated front trunk
