Even after his death, Matthew Perry remains close to Courteney Cox. Their on-screen romance as Monica and Chandler on Friends spanned a decade, ending with the series finale 20 years ago. Cox commemorated the anniversary on Instagram, expressing her gratitude and reminiscing about their shared tears and joy.

On October 28, 2023, authorities found Perry, who struggled with addiction, unresponsive in his Los Angeles home. His death ruled accidental, resulted from the acute effects of ketamine, drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine.

In the wake of Perry’s passing, Cox and her Friends costars, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc, issued a heartfelt statement. “We are all utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew,” they said. “We were more than castmates; we are family.”

Cox paid a personal tribute on Instagram, sharing a memorable outtake from Friends. “Chandler and Monica were meant for a one-night fling in London. The audience’s reaction transformed it into their love story,” she wrote. “Before shooting, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did that. He was funny and kind.”
