By virtue of being a part of the United Kingdom’s royal family, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has grown in the public eye. He is the second son of the late Princess Diana and the current King Charles. From his early childhood, his life has been rife with scandal and tragedy, with his mother and father going through a divorce and his mother’s untimely death in 1997.
After a controversial Netflix documentary series starring him and his celebrity wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry will release his tell-all book, “Spare,” in January. According to sources, his memoir is a nitty-gritty tale of living under the constraints of being in the royal family.
Even though it hasn’t been published yet, the memoir has caused a lot of debate, especially about the prince’s extracurricular activities when he was a teenager. It said that the memoir details how the prince had his first time with a “beautiful older woman in the countryside.” Although the woman is unnamed, there are rumors of it being Elizabeth Hurley, allegedly.
Hurley is best known for her role as Vanessa Kensington, a spy working for British Intelligence, in the cult classic Austin Powers. She is also a model and has appeared in various other movies. Although there are no probable ties to Prince Harry, fans assume that Hurley is the unnamed woman in the prince’s memoir. The assumption came from Prince Harry owning property in Gloucestershire while Hurley lived in the area. However, it was not just Prince Harry who had properties in the area but other royal family members, like Princess Anne.
When asked about the rumor, the Austin Powers actress quickly said, “Not me. Not guilty. Ha!” The representatives of the Prince have yet to release a statement addressing the rumor. Fans are yet to find other evidence of who the mystery woman truly is. The controversy entangling Hurley with the Prince is hopefully put to bed by the actress’ response.
This controversy, however, is just a short part of the book. Penguin Random House, the book’s publisher, has said that the book is going to shock people more than how it is rumored to. They promised inside scoops on how royals live, especially Prince Harry’s relationship with other members of the royal family. As the title implies, it is also rumored to contain the Prince’s perspective as the “spare prince” to his older brother Prince William.
Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, are no strangers to controversy involving the royal family. The couple has been forthcoming about their lives in a previous interview with television legend, Oprah, in 2021. If the book is anything like the interview and the Netflix series, fans can truly expect some eye-opening and maybe even shocking details never before told about the royal family from the Duke of Sussex’s perspective. The controversy involving Elizabeth Hurley allegedly would only be a tiny splash on the highly-anticipated memoir.
Fans of the royal would not need to wait for long because the book would be released on January 10, 2023, with hard copies and an audiobook on Audible.
