Five Cozy Video Games for Fall

If you’re anything like me, you are ready to say goodbye to the heat of summer and curl up with autumn. Here are five video games to get you in the mood for cozy nights and chilly days.

  1. Night in the Woods is a game set around Halloween in the fictional town of Possum Springs, and the game is…strange, to say the least. You play as a recent college drop out in the very midst of autumn. There’s cozy fall vibes, a dash of eeriness, and a touch of criminal activity. What’s not to like?

2. If you’re looking for something a little more mythological, then God of War (2018) is for you. It’s not typically what comes to mind when searching out those cozy vibes, but the graphics are incredible and the story is utterly captivating, showing us the Norse version of the world’s end.

3. Want something a little less spooky and a little more comfy? Check out Coffee Talk. There’s something that just screams “autumn” about the vibes of spending your time in a coffee shop, chatting with fantasy-inspired characters as you serve them their coffee and solve their problems. Think of it as your own little refuge from the stress of the day.

4. Is there any cozy video game list without Animal Crossing on it? Apparently not. Animal Crossing takes place in real time over the course of the seasons, so consider downloading now to get all that cozy fall ambiance. The scenery is currently a warm, glowing amber, with pumpkins and fallen leaves everywhere you look.

5. And we’re back to the spooky. If you’re wanting to embrace the creepy Halloween vibes while still immersing yourself in the gorgeous scenery of small town autumn, then grab The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The landscapes, graveyards and forests alike, are nothing short of enchanting, but be careful, the subject matter can get pretty heavy at times.
