Aniston and Sandler, who have been friends for a decade, expressed their appreciation for their close bond while attending the premiere of their Netflix movie Murder Mystery 2 in Los Angeles.
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler expressed their delight in working together again at the premiere of their Netflix movie, Murder Mystery 2. Aniston spoke to PEOPLE about the joy and comfort of collaborating with a close friend like Sandler, who also praised his co-star.
“We trust each other and know that we’re going to have a great time,” said Aniston, 54, who looked stunning in a sheer silver minidress at L.A.’s Regency Village Theatre. “We support each other and have a profound respect for one another.”
Aniston treasures her friendship with Sandler, not only because he’s easy to work with, but also because of his exceptional personality. According to Aniston, “it’s the consistency of who he is and the wonderful time we always have together.”
She describes Sandler as being true to himself since the day they met, and they always enjoy each other’s company in every moment.
Sandler, a former Saturday Night Live cast member, shared Aniston’s sentiment about their friendship.
He recalled his first encounter with The Morning Show star, telling PEOPLE, “I remember when we first met, we had breakfast together, and I thought she was funny as hell.” Sandler, 56, went on to say that he saw her a few more times, and every time he did, “she made me happy when I’d see her.”
Sandler speaks highly of Aniston, stating that she is funny and a great companion, whether hanging out with guys or girls. He admires her ability to say the right things and calm others down.
Sandler, who wore a New York Knicks hoodie during the premiere, reminisces, “Anytime I’d be out and I’d see her, I’d be like, ‘Oh, there’s Aniston.’ And we’d go over to each other and start laughing.” He even jokes that his dog and Aniston get along well.
During Aniston’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 21, she shared that she enjoys taking care of Sandler on set.
“He’s always taking care of everybody else, and he forgets to take care of himself,” she revealed. Aniston admitted to making smoothies for Sandler when they work on film sets together, much to the amusement of Sandler’s wife, Jackie. Aniston joked, “‘Thanks, it lasted a minute,’ she joked.”
Aniston and Sandler initially starred together in the 2011 movie, Just Go With It. They later reunited for Netflix’s original film, Murder Mystery (2019), where they portrayed a married couple entangled in a whodunnit mystery. In Murder Mystery 2, the sequel to the original movie, the story picks up four years later, with Nick and Audrey Spitz, played by Sandler and Aniston, respectively, attempting to establish their own full-time private detective agency.
