Kate Middleton’s health has been impacted by her recent appearance at the Trooping the Colour ceremony, according to a royal expert.
Despite battling cancer, the Princess of Wales returned to the spotlight for this significant event. Kate, 42, looked radiant as she joined the royal family on Buckingham Palace’s balcony for King Charles’ birthday celebrations. However, royal expert Katie Nicholl highlighted the physical toll the event took on her.
Nicholl noted that substantial preparation, time, and effort went into Kate’s appearance on Saturday. “She was on her feet for a long period,” Nicholl said. There was a moment during the parade when Kate was offered a seat, which she gratefully accepted. This indicated she isn’t as strong or fit as before her treatment.
The Princess delighted fans by appearing alongside her husband, Prince William, and King Charles to watch the traditional military flypast with their three children. The Red Arrows flew past the palace, spraying the Union Jack colors, while Middleton and her family waved to the crowd below.
Although undergoing chemotherapy, Middleton, 42, looked impeccable, according to Nicholl.
“If you didn’t know she was undergoing cancer treatment, you would never have guessed,” Nicholl remarked. The immense scrutiny of the event undoubtedly took its toll on her. Nicholl believes Middleton likely had a long and well-deserved rest afterward and suggested it might be a while before she appears in public again. The recovery from such a demanding event will take time.
Middleton made the decision to attend the ceremony independently. “There was no pressure on her from anyone. She really wanted to do this,” Nicholl explained. Kate had turned a corner in her treatment and set Trooping as a personal goal. She received medical clearance and consulted with her father-in-law, King Charles, and her husband, Prince William, both of whom supported her decision.
King Charles had announced his own cancer diagnosis in February.
Despite her health challenges, Middleton appeared at the military ceremony in honor of his birthday, having announced the day before that she felt well enough to attend. Nicholl described a great sense of pride in Princess Catherine following her appearance. “She felt very much that she needed to be there,” Nicholl said.
The children appeared happy and relaxed with their mother present. Middleton’s presence was vital to support her father-in-law, be there for her family, and convey to the nation that she’s doing okay. This event demonstrated her resilience and commitment to her role despite personal health challenges.
