Make the Most Out of The Halloween Vibes This Year

So it should come as no surprise that I am a huge fan of Halloween. As your resident grown up goth kid, October is my favorite month of the year, and I have tons of ideas of how to spend it!

Here are some things you can do to make the most of the spookiest month of the year:

Dress up! One of the most iconic aspects of Halloween is undoubtedly the costumes. Whether you’re going out or staying in, it’s the perfect excuse to get out of your comfort zone (or into some themed pajamas). Personally, I can’t wait for the pink wave of Barbie costumes this year! Myself? I’ll be binging the Addam’s Family movies in my lobster costume.

Feeling brave? It’s a haunted house for you then. It’s about that time when they start popping up all over town. So gather your bravest friends and see who screams the loudest! Feeling extra courageous? A haunted corn maze might be more your speed.

Pumpkin carving is a cherished Halloween tradition, and honestly, it should be. There’s something so nostalgic about sitting on the floor and taking a knife to a gourd. Throw on a movie (my personal choice is Hocus Pocus), get out the snacks, and get to carving! Don’t forget to make the pumpkin picking part of the main event. Save those seeds for roasting and thank me later.

Okay, my favorite thing on this list is definitely going to be a spooky movie marathon. I could sit here for hours listing my favorite Halloween movies and lambasting you to watch them. Instead, I’ll just say that no month of October is complete without at least one watch through of the Harry Potter movies, the Addams Family, or The Craft. So get cozy, grab those pumpkin seeds you roasted, and settle in for a night of comfy entertainment. Go classic and create a lineup of tried and true horror films like “Halloween,” “The Shining,” or “Psycho,” or mix in some family-friendly options like “Frankenweenie” and “Casper.”
