Selena Gomez went live on TikTok, stressing the importance of kindness just a day after Hailey Bieber’s tell-all interview.
During the Sept. 28 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Hailey Bieber revealed the truth about her relationship with Justin and whether or not she stole him from famous ex, Selena Gomez.
“A lot of the hate, and the interpretation, comes from the misperception, ‘Oh, you stole him,’” Hailey explained. “It comes from the fact that they wished he had ended up with someone else, and that’s fine. You can wish that all you want, but that’s just not the case.”
Selena Gomez didn’t let it slide; she had an important message for her fans on Sept. 29, following Hailey’s explosive interview. Gomez shared that she’s heard people make “vile and disgusting” comments about the Rhode founder since the podcast’s release. The singer called it “ironic” how some people have chosen to support her Rare Impact Fund and Rare Beauty line but still ignore its message of spreading goodwill.
“It’s not fair because no one should ever be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen,” The Only Murders in the Building star said, adding, “If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means — and that is: Words matter. Truly matter.”
Gomez concluded her video by thanking her fans for taking the time to hear her. The singer also tried to distance herself from the drama between her and Bieber by adding: “So, it ain’t comin’ from me. And I want all of you to know that I hope you understand that this is much bigger than anything else. And I’m grateful to all of you for hearing me out. So, have a wonderful rest of your day.”
