Paramore (band), performs in concert at Rock En Seine Festival.

Basketball fans and rock music fans alike were surprised when Steph Curry, the legendary Golden State Warriors player, made an appearance with Paramore in last night’s concert. And he didn’t just take the stage, he even lent his vocals to the band and sang with vocalist Hayley Williams.

Paramore was set to have a concert in the Golden State on July 22, however, they canceled at the last minute, saying that someone from the touring company got sick. It turns out that the vocalist herself, Hayley Williams, got sick and wasn’t able to perform at all.

So to recuperate for Williams’ health, the show was rescheduled for last night. Williams was still audibly not well, coughing occasionally during her set. However, the day was saved by the appearance of the Golden State Warriors hero Steph Curry. It was such an unexpected performance that fans were left in awe.

Steph Curry Sings Paramore Hit “Misery Business”

Williams explained, “So look, you know us and Steph, we go back a few years, and tonight is our reunion. Tonight we’re going to sing something together. And listen, from the moment Steph takes the mic, this is no longer a Paramore show, this is a Steph Curry show.”

Steph Curry sang the 2007 hit song “Misery Business” with Williams onstage, belting his heart out. He owned the stage as if he was born to do a concert himself. He had a floor show while singing, going to the edge of the stage to be closer to fans who were singing along with him.

Less than a week ago, Steph Curry had his musical debut when he appeared on Houston rapper, Tobe Nwigwe’s song, “Little Fish, Big Pond.” The song’s music video dropped on August 2, showing Curry in full fishing gear and white Salehe Bemburry Crocs. He was singing and rapping a tribute to his father, Dell Curry. But his performance with Paramore showed what a musical talent Steph was.

Based on the videos taken by fans from the concert, Steph Curry not only slays on the basketball court but also in concerts. For a new stadium performer, it can be disconcerting to even carry a tune with all the loud noise from the crowd. You can barely hear yourself from all the shouting, that’s how loud it can be. But “Chef” Curry as he is known to his fans, did not only sing one of Paramore’s top hits, but he sang it in tune and with much gusto.

Although fans of Paramore and the Golden State Warriors are hoping for a collaboration between the band and Curry, experts are saying it might have been a one-time thing, to honor Chase Stadium, the home of the Golden State Warriors. Both Curry and the band have busy schedules, with Paramore continuing their nationwide tour and stopping next in Washington and Oregon, and Curry gearing up to start the new NBA season, there is simply no time for a collaboration. But not all doors are closed on it. Maybe in the future, Curry and Paramore will once again reunite to record a track or do concerts together.
