It was a regular Sunday night in an L.A. restaurant. Tori Kelly and her friends were enjoying dinner when the pop singer suddenly felt her heart racing. She then fell unconscious so her friends promptly drove her to the hospital. She was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
The singer started out in American Idol and though she didn’t become a finalist, she still made a career of singing. She was actually nominated for and won Grammys for her songs and albums.
During the pandemic, Tori Kelly expressed her love of touring and how much she misses it. “I miss touring so much. I was actually on a world tour right as Covid was happening, and it was heartbreaking to have to cancel that. Since then, I haven’t been able to tour.”
Now that the pandemic is over, Kelly is doing shows all around the US. She was set to play at West Hollywood’s Roxy Theater this Friday. However, there is no clear word on whether the show will be canceled yet.
Hospitalization of Tori Kelly
Tori Kelly fell in and out of consciousness on the way to the hospital. When she arrived at Cedars-Sinai, doctors immediately started working to find out what was wrong. The results of their examination were devastating. She had blood clots in her lungs and legs. They are still looking for more clots and hoping there are no clots near her heart.
Blood clots can be fatal, especially if they are found near the heart. It could potentially stop her heart. Right now, Tori Kelly isn’t out of the woods yet. Doctors are monitoring her condition and treating her for blood clots. It is still a dangerous time for Kelly but she is fighting for her life, even if she is drifting in and out of consciousness.
Tori Kelly has made waves in the entertainment industry with hits like “Nobody Love” and “Never Alone” which were both nominated for Grammy awards. She also appeared in other variety shows aside from American Idol like The Masked Singer, where fans immediately recognized her. “I can’t even try to hide from them, even when I would do the little impression stuff they knew. So yeah, I guess that’s a good thing that my fans know me. I can’t hide. So I’ll take that as a good thing.”
This medical emergency is a surprise for the otherwise healthy 30-year-old singer. Her fans are praying for her recovery. Everyone in the music industry is shocked and devastated.
