Samsung has officially announced its plans to hold the new foldable, tablets and smartwatches Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul, South Korea, on July 26. During this event, the South Korean tech giant will launch the latest generation of Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Watch 6 Series.
The company has confirmed that the event will take place at COEX in Samseong-dong, where it intends to captivate a global audience with its innovative technologies and immersive experiences.
“A new cultural driver is coming. Come along on our journey to discover an all-new Galaxy as we showcase our latest technologies designed to open possibilities and transform lives. It’s going to make you want to Join the flip side,” said Samsung in its event invitation.
“Hosting Unpacked in Seoul holds great significance both as it is a city that has become an emerging epicentre of innovation and culture as well as the foldable category,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “The foldable category embodies Samsung’s philosophy of delivering breakthrough innovation that pushes boundaries to reshape the future of mobile experiences.”
Alongside the official date announcement, the company has also published advertisement videos on its official channels. As per the video below, the company showcases a series of renowned cities along the route to Seoul, symbolizing the path of the Unpacked event. The whole video shows a new journey of the launch from Cape Town, New York, Milan, London, Riyadh, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Beijing with proper Kilometers [KM].
Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 expected features
Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 foldable smartphone will be more desirable than its predecessor Galaxy Z Fold 4. The device is already confirmed to debut with the overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC which we already experience in the latest Galaxy S23 Series. It will offer a 12GB of RAM. It may come in three different storage options – 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. However, the storage models will vary depending on the location.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is tipped to offer a 7.6-inch foldable display with a 6.2-inch cover screen consisting AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. For optics, the upcoming foldable smartphone from Samsung will arrive with a triple camera setup on the back. As per the latest leaked information from various reliable tipsters, it may consist of a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and a 12MP telephoto lens.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 expected features
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is the second foldable device that will launch on the same day. The device highlight will be its new cover screen design. It may feature a different hinge design (Waterdrop or Droplet) than the existing model. The new hinge is said to reduce the visibility of the seam on the upcoming device. It is also rumoured that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 may feature an improved camera as well.
Several leaks suggest the addition of a large cover display will help users run more apps. The upcoming Flip phone may face massive competition with Motorola Razr 40 Ultra and Xiaomi’s first Flip phone.
Meanwhile, the official Galaxy Flip 5 poster confirms that the company will continue using a metal frame to ensure durability.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Series
According to popular Twitter tipsters like Ice Universe, Tech Reve and more, the new lineup is expected to include two models – Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic smartwatches. The Classic variant will also mark the return of rotating bezels on Galaxy Watches. The two Galaxy Watch models are also expected to be powered by Exynos W930 SoC. Samsung may continue its partnership with Google to improve WearOS and add new health features to attract more customers.
The price of the Watch 6 40mm Bluetooth variant may start at EUR 319.99 and the 43mm Bluetooth variant of the Watch 6 Classic may cost EUR 419.99.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Series
Samsung is also expected to launch the new Galaxy Tab S9 Series consisting of three models the Galaxy Tab S9, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra alongside the new foldables and smartwatch.
In terms of core specifications, the Galaxy Tab S9 will be equipped with an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen that offers a WQXGA resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. For selfies, the tablet will offer a 12-megapixel camera, and its rear panel will be equipped with a 13-megapixel camera. It has an 8,400mAh battery, 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage. The device will measure 254.8 x 165.8 x 5.9mm.
The Plus variant of the Tab S9 Series is all set to debut with a 12.4-inch Dynmic AMOLED 2X display that produces a WQXGA+ resolution of 2800 x 1782 pixels. For optics, it will feature a 12-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual-camera system. It will come with a 10,090mAh battery, 12 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage.
The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra the higher variant from the series will launch with a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel and a resolution of 2960 x 1898 pixels. It will feature a pair of 12 MP cameras on the front, whereas it will be equipped with a 13 MP + 8 MP dual-camera system. The tablet will come with 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and an 11,200mAh battery. Under the hood, the tablets are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.
