Hyundai Motor US recorded the highest sales in the month of July, this is with respect to its IONIQ 5 electric SUV. At the same time, the automaker’s other dedicated EV, the IONIQ 6 is also depicting the increase in demand.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 EV sales are at a fast pace
Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, has their words that “green car” sales have risen drastically with each passing month this year. Parker also gives compliments the automaker’s “marketing and dealer programs” for their success this past month. While at the end of June, it is been observed that Hyundai was offering a new national incentive for present Hyundai drives. This incentive figure amounts to up to $10,000 in savings.
Additionally, Hyundai offered a $2,500 cash-back Valued Owner Coupon, which could be collected with respect to the $7,500 credit for leasing an EV. While both the variant IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 are eligible for the $7,500 lease credit.
A few time back Hyundai also sent a letter to dealers mentioning several IONIQ 6 trims. It includes the SE Standard Range, SE, and SEL models. Whereas, this would be eligible for a $5,000 retail cash bonus for buyers. The Premium trim also comes with savings of $2,000 respectively.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 June sales
In June, both of the Hyundai devoted EVs create new monthly sales in the US. Talking about specific figures then Hyundai sold 3,136 IONIQ 5 which is +10% YOY and 1,162 IONIQ 6 EVs. This number crossed the 1K mark for the first time.
The trend keeps up at the same pace in July. Hyundai disclosed IONIQ 5 sales accomplished 4,135 in July, the same is up by 109% from last year. On the other hand, IONIQ 6 sales appear to be trending upwards, reaching 1,745. IONIQ 5 sales are cross up 13% YTD with respect to last year, this is achieved with 17,776 units sold. Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 is about 5,000 in sales for the year.

Kia, a Hyundai Motor Group affiliate, also noted sales growth for its first electric model in the US. When it comes to figures then EV6 sales recorded 1,937 units in July which is up by 13% YOY. Although, YTD sales are notably down by 39% to 10,265 before one of its immense launches yet, the Flagasip EV9, Kia’s first electric three-row SUV.
