Major technological innovations often find their first application on top-of-the-range smartphones, effectively justifying their high prices. However, there are growing indications that the next few generations of these devices will see price increases.
According to the latest information from, Yogesh Brar reflecting that the devices of the Google Pixel 8, iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S24 and Xiaomi 14 series could undergo a significant price increase of between 50 and 200 dollars , depending on the models specific.
What about the price?
In addition to inflation, of course, the greatest increase will be caused by the production of Chips where all the indicators point to rising production (and therefore sales) costs, let’s take a few examples.
It is now established as per the latest information that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset is expected with a significantly higher list price, a factor that will certainly influence the prices of the Snapdragon variants of the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Xiaomi 14 series which by name and importance they will not be able to arrive on the market with the previous processor ( which will happen with other brands instead ).
Moving to the iPhone 15, the A17 Bionic chip, a titanium frame, and a periscope camera on the Pro Max model could push prices way up. And given Apple’s well-known approach to profit margins, it’s unlikely we’ll see reductions – just look at the prices of the iPhone 14 which have soared over previous models.
While the focus is on flagship smartphones, mid-range and budget devices are also likely to see increases, albeit to a lesser extent. In short, if you are about to change your smartphone for the next Amazon Prime Offer Day , Black Friday and Cyber Monday could be great opportunities.
