At IFA 2023, Nokia officially launched a new industrial drone solution called Nokia Drone Networks. The latest system brings a docking station, a ground control station, and add-on IoT sensors and cameras.
This drone solution is targeted at industries such as industrial and logistics, as well as firefighting and emergency scenarios. Nokia is offering customised drones that can be equipped with various IoT sensors. The default bundle comes with a dual gimbal camera capable of high-definition streaming. Additionally, drones can be fitted with sensors for detecting smoke, motion, and radiation, as well as other payloads like loudspeakers and searchlights.
Nokia Introduces Durable Industrial Drone Solution
Nokia is providing a payload development kit which allows enterprises to change the setup and evaluate hardware compatibility for different payloads. The solution enables multiple drones to fly on automated individual missions controlled from a single ground control station running on the edge cloud.
Nokia’s own-made drones are designed to withstand high temperatures for fire monitoring in areas where helicopters cannot be used. The solution is capable of covering large areas for real-time monitoring of factory premises, industrial campuses, or border areas. It can be used for mapping, route guidance, and rescue operations in areas of natural disasters.
