According to the latest report from the Allison Johnson of The Verge, the new iPhone 15 series showcased the new battery charge limit feature.
A Chinese regulatory website recently revealed iPhone 15 series battery capacities. All four models have received a slight increase in capacity as compared to their respective previous-generation models.
- iPhone 15 with 3,349mAh battery (previously 3,279mAh)
- iPhone 15 Plus with 4,383mAh battery (previously 4,325mAh)
- iPhone 15 Pro with 3,274mAh battery (previously 3,200mAh)
- iPhone 15 Pro Max with 4,422mAh battery (previously 4,323mAh)
How to do it?
To limit 80% limit, you can visit Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Charging Optimization.
As per the Chinese regulatory listing, the iPhone 15 has a 3,349mAh battery (rated capacity) and a wattage of 12.981Wh. The iPhone 15 Plus has a capacity of 4383mAh.
The iPhone 15 Pro has a 4,383mAh battery and a wattage of 16.950Wh, while the Pro Max version has a 4,422mAh capacity.
In comparison, the iPhone 14 series has 3,279mAh, 4,325mAh (iPhone 14 Plus), 3,200mAh (iPhone 14 Pro), and 4,323mAh (iPhone 14 Pro Max) capacities, respectively.
As per the Japanese publication Mac Otakara, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models are only capable of up to 27W peak charging speeds with a compatible USB-C power brick.
