Ford came up with the new Lightning incentive scheme recently. It offers up to $7,500 for buying or leasing. It indicates one can take advantage of up to $15,000 in savings. On the official Ford website, the 2023 F-150 Lightning Platinum trim displays a $7,500 retail purchase incentive. While the equal amount in Red Carpet Lease customer cash.
The Lariat also offers a $7,500 incentive for purchasing whereas only $5,000 for leasing. The American automaker is offering $1,500 off the XLT model for leasing or purchasing. Also, its Pro variant has no incentive scheme.
According to auto research platform CarsDirect, this is the largest discount offered on Ford’s electric truck. When the Lightning was first introduced, there were no deals available. Meanwhile, Ford was pushing for balloon financing with its Ford Options Plan.
Biggest discount offered by Ford
Auto research platform CarsDirect is one of the biggest discounts offered on Ford’s electric trucks so far. By the time Lightning was introduced, there were no such deals offered. In the interim, Ford was also thrust for ballon financing with its Ford Options Plan.
In April, Ford stated that Lightning is eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit. However, the Platinum trim is over the $80,000 threshold. Therefore, you can still have the choice to save up to $15,000 combined in the loaded Lariant model. This incentive scheme will start on January 2.
The new deals come into effect as the automaker seeks to raise the output by the end of the year. Between July and September, Ford sold 3,503 electric pickups, record a down of 45% as compared to last year.
Ford told Electrek last month that “F-150 Lightning production is starting to ramp after a six-week shutdown to expand the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center with limited deliveries across July and August.”
Furthermore, the automaker’s potential appears to be picking up post introducing healthy price incentives. Meanwhile, Ford also came up with an all-new “Flash” trim for 2024 that smoothly hits the “sweet spots” with 320 miles of range. Alongside, it is packed with a loaded tech interior, and a heat pump, starting at $69,995.
