In 2023, Meta announced Threads, but it is still not possible to install it in Italy and the rest of Europe. If you are interested in the new social network announced by Instagram, there is good news for you: a countdown for the European launch has appeared on the official website, and there is very little left until the release.
Threads countdown
Threads was launched last summer, but it has not yet arrived officially, although initially it was possible to circumvent the “block” in some way . For those who don’t know what we’re talking about, it’s a new social network developed by the Instagram team (and therefore Meta) designed for text posts with a maximum of 500 characters, as well as for sharing photos and videos lasting up to five minutes . In practice, we are talking about a direct rival of Twitter, now X.
Since the app is closely tied to Instagram, users can log in with their Instagram username and easily follow the same people on both platforms.
After an “unofficial” start, Meta blocked Threads in Europe : the app never officially landed in the old continent, but through manual installation it was possible to use it for a few days, until the company decided to block it.
In more detail, Meta combines Threads data with that of Instagram, and while respecting the GDPR, the platform should ask users for consent to be able to combine data from different platforms.
