Google Cloud Next we have artificial intelligence at the center of attention: during the event, the Mountain View company announced several innovations in the Workspace area , including Google Vids, Gemini , Vertex AI, AI Meetings and Messaging, AI Security, Gmail , Sheets , Documents , Chat , Meet and so on and so forth. Let’s do some tidying up and find out everything.
Google Vids is a new app for creating step-by-step videos using AI
Google announces a series of improvements for Google Workspace , which range across different services and applications but which for better or worse all concern artificial intelligence. We start with Google Vids , a new AI-based professional video creation app . Videos are now omnipresent as a means of storytelling, both for their immediacy and for their ability to attract attention, but sometimes for those who are inexperienced it can be a little difficult to even understand where to start.
Precisely for this reason Google Vids is proposed, which acts as an assistant for video writing, production and editing, all in a single solution. It can generate an easily editable storyboard and, after choosing a style, it can create a first draft starting from suggested scenes with stock video, images and background music. It joins productivity tools such as Docs, Sheets and Slides, and like the latter it offers a clear and intuitive interface and the ability to collaborate and share projects via browser.
Google also talked about the new AI Meeting and Messaging add-on for Google Meet , which can be integrated into most Workspace plans for $10 per user per month. AI-powered features like Take Notes for Me (now in preview) let you fully concentrate instead of having to take notes, while Translate for Me (coming in June) can automatically detect and translate subtitles in Meet, with support for 69 languages.
