The iPhone smartphone maker Apple is currently working on iPad Pro models with hybrid OLED displays in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes. Also, the company is looking to bring these new iPads with up to 4TB storage. These models could replace the current-gen 11-inch iPad Pro with a conventional LCD and 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED panel.
Why OLED display?
According to the latest report released by DigiTimes, the hybrid OLED screens on these new iPad Pro models would consist of both flexible and rigid materials, resulting in a thinner and lighter form factor compared to their predecessors.
OLED will surely improve the brightness, contrast ratio, colour accuracy, and power efficiency of the device. For your information, the present iPad Pro models (which currently refresh at 24Hz-120Hz) could drop as low as 10Hz or below, thus aiding in lower power consumption
Besides the OLED benefits, the 13-inch model bezels could also get thinner in these or on one of the future generations of iPad Pros.
The company is looking to integrate M3 chip. Another tipster named Revegnus suggests the OLED iPad Pros could support 4TB of storage, up from the current 2TB available in the outgoing model.
OLED iPad Pro launch details
As per the reliable tipster globally, the upcoming hybrid OLED iPad Pro models are expected to launch in 2024, possibly in March or June.
In the meantime, all eyes are on the Apple September 12th iPhone 15 launch event.
