Google has recently introduced Gemini, the latest in artificial intelligence also arriving on the Google Pixel 8 Pro. Early users of Google’s flagship are trying out the Gemini Nano AI model for the Recorder app’s “Summarize” feature that lets you summarize an already transcribed audio recording (currently for English only).

The Nano version of Gemini is available in Nano-1 variants, with 1.8 billion parameters, and Nano-2 with 3.25 billion parameters, in order to better adapt to the amount of RAM available on the device.
According to what Max Weinbach found, downloading Gemini Nano does not take up too much storage space on the smartphone. Through a tweet on X, the author highlights that Gemini Nano’s mind actually occupies 1.43 GB.
To be able to try the “Summarize” feature you need to download the 4.2.20231031.x update of the Recorder app and therefore the Gemini Nano model, however some users report that the artificial intelligence does not digest transcriptions that are too long, as it warns that can get better results with medium-length transcripts.
