Android Central published a report, sharing photos of the protective cases of Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 XL mobile phones, once again confirming that Google will launch three Pixel 9 series mobile phones this year: Standard Edition, Pro Edition and XL Edition.
Google had been using the XL suffix to name its larger Pixel phones around 2019, but canceled this naming method after launching the Pixel 5 in only one size.
In 2021, Google changed the name of its flagship model to “Pro”, which has been used ever since. The protective case exposed this time once again shows that Google has subdivided the Pro series into two sizes and re-enabled the XL suffix.
It is reported that the screen sizes of the three models are as follows:
- Pixel 9 Pro XL: 6.5 inches
- Pixel 9 Pro: 6.1 inches
- Pixel 9: 6.03 inches
Thinborne is a popular phone case manufacturer that uses aramid fiber to create strong, thin and lightweight phone cases.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones launched by Google last year adopted a straight-screen design but retained the rounded edges on both sides of the phone. According to the protective case shared by Thinborne, the Pixel 9 series will continue to use a straight screen design, and the corners will further reduce the curvature and be closer to a square shape.
