Apple is looking to launch the iPhone 16 series in September or October 2024. After dummy images of the iPhone 16 models were leaked, details about the batteries for the iPhone 16 lineup have emerged online. This suggests that there could be a boost in the battery size for the iPhone 16 series models, except for the iPhone 16 Plus.
iPhone 16 series battery details leaked
Through Weibo, a tipster shared details about the battery of the iPhone 16 models, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The tipster mentioned that the iPhone 16 might house a 3,561mAh battery, while the Plus variant may come with a battery of 4,006mAh.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro is anticipated to house a 3,355mAh cell, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max might sport a 4,676mAh battery.
The leaked information suggests a 5.8 percent increase in battery size for the iPhone 16 and a 2 percent increase for the iPhone 16 Pro compared to their predecessors. If the rumoured 4,676mAh battery for the iPhone 16 Pro Max is accurate, it would be 5.7 percent larger than the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 4,422mAh cell.
However, the supposed 4,006mAh battery for the iPhone 16 Plus would be 8.6 percent smaller than the iPhone 15 Plus’s 4,383mAh unit.
On the other hand, the recently leaked images of dummy units for the iPhone 16 series models have provided insights into their design and potential features. The new iPhones might have an Action button, a feature currently found only on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
