Meta has now officially announced that it is working on progress in the use of artificial intelligence, bringing numerous new functions to Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. At the same time, years after its announcement, end-to-end encryption has finally arrived on Messenger for everyone.
Meta said that it is working on over 20 new features that leverage artificial intelligence: some of them are already in rollout on its social media platforms, while others are in development and will be launched in the coming months.
These new features will bring improvements in search, advertising and messaging, with the aim of making user experiences more engaging. For development, Mark Zuckerberg’s company is relying on its artificial intelligence platform called Meta AI .
Meta launches new AI functions on social media
One of the key features being developed by Meta is called Reimagine and allows users to recreate images using artificial intelligence. Within chats, users will be able to generate an image starting from a text string suggested by Meta AI .
Once sent, other participants in the conversation will be able to add additional suggestions to create a new image based on the changes you made.
Reimagine is based on an existing tool, also owned by Meta , called Imagine. For the occasion, the company also announced that Imagine is now available as a standalone web application, reachable at this address for anyone who wants to try it.
Furthermore, among the functions arriving in the future we find Reels within Meta AI chats . The introduction of the famous Reels will allow you to view visual examples that correspond to the request made by the user. For example, if in a group chat you are planning a trip with friends, you can ask the chatbot to recommend the best places to visit by combining the answer with some Reels that can provide further information or suggestions.
In the future the company will introduce many other functions, such as the possibility of creating birthday greetings for friends, editing your posts using artificial intelligence or even the possibility of transforming your photos to publish on Facebook.
