Smartphones from the Google Pixel range can now count on new features in the settings of the At a Glance widget (or Assistant Summary), much appreciated by users. The changes started to appear a few months ago, but have now spread globally and should be available to all (or almost all) owners of Big G smartphones.
Unified “everyone” settings for Google’s At a Glance widget
In recent months, Google developers have been introducing several changes and innovations in the At a Glance widget, the latest of which concerns train journeys and travel times. In recent days, the news regarding the settings is spreading globally, which on Pixel smartphones are now unified and more orderly: these changes should make the screen, which previously offered some redundant options, less “chaotic” and more intuitive.
Within the settings of the At a Glance widget, accessible through the Pixel Launcher, we can find all the switches in a single list and no longer divided into two pages. Below the settings related to customizations (concerning sensitive content, app data, account data and activity on Google), we can find a long list of switches to activate or deactivate the various options. More precisely we now have 19 :
Weather, Air quality, Alerts, Earthquake alert, What’s next, Work profile, Food and household products orders, Package delivery, Commute, Time to go out, Ridesharing, Travel, Fitness, Security Control, Timer & Stopwatch, Connected Devices, Cross-device Timer, Doorbell and Flashlight.
The other new feature that we told you about last October, namely At a Store, has not yet been implemented for everyone. The latter shows shopping lists and any Google Play rewards cards when users are in supported stores.
