Nubia has officially launched its world’s first gaming smartphones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset recently. The company released its all-new RedMagic 8S Pro and 8S Pro+ smartphones in China. For your information, these two smartphones come with Qualcomm’s latest chipset. The 8S Pro+ is the world’s first to feature 24GB of physical RAM.
Nubia Red Magic 8S Pro Global Launch
The company is all to uncover the RedMagic 8S Pro smartphone on July 18 globally. It offering a USD 15 coupon for users subscribing to the upcoming global launch event. Nubia is expected to announce the reveal of the availability of the smartphone in the upcoming event.
The global units feature a similar design as the Chinese variants. The teaser image also confirms that it will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is overclocked for a boost of speed. Also, these two smartphones are all set to arrive with an ICE 12.0 Cooling System where thermal control is re-engineered.
Nubia will likely price the smartphone under USD 700 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Nubia had priced the same variant at CNY 3,999. The company kept the 12GB + 512GB variant pricing at CNY 5,499. Nubia has equipped the 8S Pro smartphone with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 1,116 x 2,480 pixels resolution.
As per the specifications are concerned, the smartphone display supports 1440Hz PWM high-frequency dimming, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 960Hz, and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. The RedMagic 8S Pro sports a seventh-generation ultra-thin fingerprint scanner.
These smartphones are designed for gaming performance. The chipset pairs with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The device runs on RedMagic OS 8.0 based on Android 13 out of the box. The smartphone offers a 50MP Samsung GN5 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens.
The company equips the smartphone with an under-display camera. Nubia has equipped a 16MP selfie camera beneath the display. It will be packed with a 6000 mAh battery which supports 80W fast charging. Nubia has included support for a 3.5mm headphone jack with the smartphone.
