Xiaomi has officially announced that the company will be replacing MIUI with HyperOS starting with the Xiaomi 14 Series.
POCO F5 getting Xiaomi HyperOS via OTA Update
The POCO F5 has now started receiving HyperOS via OTA updates. It is one of the first devices to get updated with Xiaomi’s new self-developed operating system. POCO is rolling out this update globally to all users.
HyperOS Arrives on the POCO F5
POCO F5 users can now update their devices with HyperOS. The company has started rolling out an OTA update which will replace MIUI. Users can simply update their phone normally without any need for a computer or factory reset.
Users can check for the update by going into Settings > About Phone > Software Info > Updates. The HyperOS update for the POCO F5 is based on Android 14.
The new OS will not just be limited to smartphones as Xiaomi plans to use HyperOS across all of its products including tablets, IoT devices, etc.
The POCO F5 was launched in India in May 2023 with MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The device is expected to receive two Android updates and three years of security patches.
