Android 14 version includes several new features and it brings an overall improvement in the user experience but also some problems regarding Android Auto.
In fact, there have been more and more reports online from users who, after having installed the update to the new version of the operating system, have started to experience problems with Android Auto.
How to fix Android Auto issue with Android 14
According to what we learned, before connecting the mobile device with a cable to the infotainment system it is necessary to enable USB debugging on the smartphone. You can now connect your phone to the head unit and Android Auto should work fine. Once this is done, you can safely disable USB debugging and Android Auto should continue to work without any problems.
Some other users claim that the smartphone needs to be restarted after it has been connected to the head unit for the first time (this must happen while it is still connected to the vehicle), so the next time Android 14 is loaded you should see Android Auto activate automatically on the screen.
In either case, disabling USB debugging after Android Auto successfully launches on Android 14 the first time does not affect the app’s functionality the next time it launches.
Unfortunately, Android 14 also causes other problems for Android Auto users, such as with Spotify, but this does not affect everyone.
