Elon Musk has recently confirmed that Tesla may send the Cybertruck prototype to mainland China for display, although it will be extremely challenging to legally put it on the road.
Later, Tesla China released news, officially announcing that the Cybertruck national tour is about to begin, and registration has been opened. The city where the new car will debut will be determined based on the registration results.
Now the X tipster ThinkerCar posted a photo of what appeared to be a Cybertruck arriving in China. In the picture, two prototype vehicles were covered by car covers and lying quietly on the trailer. Although the specific time for the official exhibition is not yet known, judging from the speed of transportation, it must not be far away.
Drone operator Joe Tegtmeyer also participated in the discussion. He posted several photos taken at Tesla’s Texas Gigafactory last week. In the photos, it seems that these Cybertrucks are being packaged and prepared for shipment to China.
Although Tesla had previously allowed Chinese and European users to pre-order Cybertruck, it suspended orders in 2022 and only provided a “get updates” option on the official website. Due to the Cybertruck’s size and stainless steel body, it’s unlikely that this unique electric pickup will be legal on the roads in China, as Musk has said. However, Tesla can still increase brand awareness by displaying its products in showrooms across the country.
