It has been found that Tesla has seemingly resumed deploying Magic Dock adapters at its Superchargers in the US. While to be very least then at one station in Texas.
This would serve as a new receiver for the Tesla charge connector on the Supercharger station. At the same time, it can also be disconnected from the charger in order to serve as a NACS to CCS adapter.
At the beginning of this year, Tesla officially disclosed the new Supercharger station with Magic Dock. The company showcases this as a way to onboard non-Tesla EV owners to the Supercharger network.
They successfully installed the adapter at several stations in New York and California. On the other hand, the device did not appear to come at any new station in the past few months.
However, the exact reason behind what was happening is not clear yet. But alongside it is expected that Tesla paused the installation of the adapter. As the company has their deal with automakers to accept NACS, the same has been started in May in full fledge mode.
Meanwhile, Tesla has appeared installing the Magic Dock at a station in Texas. Whereby, the company seems to effectively utilize the Supercharger station in Eastchase Fort Worth near Arlington, Texas. And in order to test the device, Tesla borough a Ford F-150 Lightning.
Furthermore, the station is not listed officially as “open to non-Tesla electric vehicles” on its website. Although, this is a good sign that Tesa will continuously seem to be opening stations in regard to other EVs. This is before launching its adapters to vehicles like Ford, GM, Volvo, Rivian, and other EV owners next year.
