In 2023 Meta added several features to WhatsApp, including the long-awaited screen sharing, however, this feature does not allow you to share your audio. Now evidence has emerged that the WhatsApp team is working to make up for this shortcoming.
WhatsApp could add audio to screen sharing
The code contained in version 2.23.25.20 of the WhatsApp beta app for Android contains a string that suggests that in the future the app could allow you to share audio while sharing your screen.
This would be a welcome addition to screen sharing on WhatsApp, as the ability to also share audio would definitely improve the overall experience offered by the feature.
A possible evolution of this functionality could be the watch party, for example to allow users to watch movies and TV shows together, or local videos stored on the host’s device.
