As per the latest report from Ming-Chi Kuo on Medium, Apple plans to share more development details about the Vision Pro ahead of WWDC. In order to accomplish this, Apple plans to launch the Vision Pro in non-US markets ahead of the WWDC to promote the global development ecosystem of the VisionOS.
Apple Vision Pro Key Details
The reasons for this include a limited supply of Vision Pro, a smoother sales process in the US, and the time to adapt the algorithms to comply with regulations in other countries.
Apple first released the Vision Pro headset at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June last year, priced at US$3,499. The Vision Pro has a single-eye resolution of 4K and allows users to use the headset. The knob on the side of the display switches between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). The headset is powered by Apple’s own dual chips, including the M2 chip and the new R1 chip, which is designed to process data from built-in sensors, cameras and microphones.
The 256GB storage version of Vision Pro starts at US$3,499. Apple also announced the price details of lens inserts: Zeiss optical lenses (reading glasses) are sold for US$99, and Zeiss optical lenses (prescription glasses) are sold for US$99. The price is US$149.
