The analysis of the APK of the latest update released by Google for the Pixel Camera app (formerly Google Camera) has revealed interesting information for the first Mountain View foldable: in the near future, Google Pixel Fold could gain a new Dual mode Screen to be exploited specifically in the photographic field .
Dual Screen mode coming to Google Pixel Fold?
For a few years now, the Google team has been working hard to optimize the functioning of the Android operating system and Big G apps on the larger displays of Android tablets and foldable smartphones ; Over the past year, efforts have become direct in both market segments with the launch of the Google Pixel Fold and Google Pixel Tablet.
Google Pixel Fold itself represents a first attempt for Google, after years of work done side by side with Android OEMs, compared to whose foldables – think of the examples of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 (here is our review ) and OnePlus Open -, it denotes However, there is still some lack in terms of functions that take advantage of its foldable nature.
The function that is the subject of today’s indiscretion is proof of this: at present, the Google leaflet allows you to use both screens simultaneously only with the Dual Screen Interpreter mode of Google Translate; soon, however, the situation could change: in Mountain View they are preparing a Dual Screen mode for the camera.
The clues come from the analysis of the Pixel 9.2 Camera – which we told you about in recent days -, which contains some interesting code strings with respect to the above mode, identified with the code name “saturn”:
