With a whopping sales figure of 203% of the electric SUV, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 become the top-notch choice in the US. The amazing sales numbers set up a new record in September. “We are in great shape to finish the year strong with our all-new Kona and increased sales from our IONIQ lineup of electric vehicles.” The statement was explained by Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, on Tuesday.
It is worth noting that Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 flew up its sales record by 203% YOY in September. And succeded in hitting the record with 3,958 units. Also, in the third quarter, Hyundai sold 11,665 IONIQ 5 EVs which is up by 143%, and that’s a record in itself. IONIQ 5 sales have now touched 25,306 in its first nine months of 2023. The electric SUV has kept on increasing all over the year. With a little dip in August from July, now again the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is gaining momentum.
Hyundai started a new promo on September 21. Out of the same, the new EV buyers get a free ChargerPoint Level 2 home charger as well as installation credit. It costs between the $529 MSRP for the charger and the $600 installation credit. Whereby buyers can lock in over $1,100 in savings.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 electric sedan sales
As seen, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 electric sedan sales have also started rising. Its sales have now reached 8,318 units YTD after launching in March. On the other hand, Hyundai’s subsidiary company, Kia also set a record when it comes to September EV sales. It rose by 127% over last year, with EV6 sales up 45% YOY, reaching 2,084 respectively.
Kia freshly disclosed that its new flagship EV9 electric SUV will start at $54,900 in the US. Whereas, the automaker tagged it as an industry “wake-up call”. It is speculated that the deliveries begin by the end of the year.
