Within the span of nine months post disclosing its initial plans for the surface of a global high-power EV charging network. Mercedes-Benz has shared its progress update that we going to avail in the form of some stations opening soon.
In January, Mercedes-Benz revealed its plans for a new fast-charging network. This is financed and in collaboration with MNB Energy. Also, the earlier announced network comprises over 400 planned charging hubs. This would become home to over 2,500 ChargePoint DC fast charging stations across North America.
The company has its focus on expanding the charging hubs in populated areas so that it can fulfill the requirements for major EV vehicles. Alongside offering a space for drivers to plug in nearby retail and other service centers.
This plan is part of a recently announced collaboration between seven global automakers in order to implement a universal charging network. Apart from North America, Mercedes Benz is planning to stretch the global reach of branded chargers that overcome 10,000 piles by the end of the decade.

First Mercedes EV charging stations coming soon
According to an update from Mercedes, its first branded Charging Hubs will begin operations this October. This starts with three major locations consisting of Atlanta, Chengdu, China, and Mannheim, Germany. By the end of next year, the German automaker plans to expand to over 2,000 points as well as the same number of Charging Hubs.
In addition to this, the station will deliver charge rates up to 400kW and bring a variety of plugs in order to fit any EV, according to the location. This comprises CCS1, CCS2, NACS, and GB/T. At the same time, the Mercedes Charging Hubs will offer Plug & Charge for the drivers in Mercedes EVs, also enabling them to reserve a charger ahead of time.
