Recently, the new entry-level electric Mercedes-Benz appeared in testing before its world launch next month. This new CLA-sized electric vehicle-based gets the inherited inspiration from their gas-powered model.
In addition to this information, Mercedes Benz will be going to showcase its next-generation EV models at the forthcoming IAA Mobility in Munich starting September 5.
As per the automaker, the focus of this year’s show will be Mercedes entry-level segment cars. While this event will be the first whereby fans can access the Mercedes electric lineup along with future EVs.
In this show, visitors will be able to see the new EQA electric SUV, EQB, and EQV electric minivan, along with the VISION EQXX and Vision One-Eleven. Additionally, Mercedes will demonstrate it’s charging ecosystem with its most recent public and home charging solutions.
Entry-level CLA EVs come to compete with Tesla Model 3
Although, the new entry-level EV is supposed to draw the attention of those people, who already got inspired by its gas-powered CLA variant.
It is being said, that this new electric model is launched in order to compete against the Tesla Model 3. The Model 3 is the cheapest EV that gives approximately 400 miles of range along with a tech-oriented interior.
CLA EV has a similar design language as its gas-powered CLA variant
As its launch come nearer, the Mercedes Benz entry-level EV seems testing via Auto Express. However, at this point, the EV is fully wrapped. Meanwhile, it is very clear that the shape and design language is very much similar to its gas-powered CLA variant.
Similar to other test cars spotted, the model is equipped with pop-out door handles. It is also fitted with a closed-off grille, distinct character lines, and a small lip spoiler.
According to the company, the model will demonstrate its “vision for class-leading innovation, design, and digital experience.” It is said that it will signify the introduction of a new platform and infotainment system. Alongside, it is housed with tech from the respective Vision EQXX concept to optimize efficiency.
