Nothing founder Carl Pei has finally announced a new brand name – CMF for the upcoming budget products. Have a look at the details. Carl Pei announced the arrival of CMF via the Nothing Q2 Community Update. The products, as the brand says, will “serve to bridge the gap in the value segment with better quality products that offer a clean and timeless design.”
What to Expect with CMF by Nothing?
Nothing has officially confirmed the arrival of its new products under the new CMF branding. As per the official post, the company is all set to bring a pair of earbuds and a smartwatch. While an exact launch date isn’t known, these are slated to arrive later this year.
The upcoming watch was spotted on the BIS certifications site with the model number ‘Nothing D395’ under the CMF by Nothing branding and we now know what this was! It also remains to be seen if Nothing applies its signature design to the products under CMF and if not, what will it serve on our plates. We still have a lot of unanswered questions and I am sure we will get proper details on this soon, given that the launch is expected this year.
In a community update posted to YouTube on Thursday, Pei announced the launch of CMF by Nothing, a sub-brand that is aimed at “making a new range of products that make better design more accessible”. Stating that the value segment doesn’t have a lot of devices to “get excited about”, Pei says that the sub-brand will have a design-led organisation like Nothing, but doesn’t mention whether CMF devices will feature Nothing’s unique transparent design.
