According to the latest information users of Nothing Phone (1) will have to wait a few days before the official update that will bring Nothing OS 2.0 on the forerunner of Carl Pei’s smartphone series.
Nothing OS 2.0 is coming to Phone (1)
Launched together with Nothing Phone (2) last July, Nothing OS 2.0 is the new OS of Nothing ‘s proprietary interface, based on Android 13 but which introduces, compared to the first version, several new features such as widgets in the lockscreen, an app locker, monochrome icons and many other small graphic and non-graphic goodies that will make the smartphone even more customizable.
Nothing OS 2.0 rolling out next week on Phone (1)
The manufacturer’s profile announced that the rollout of Nothing OS 2.0 for Phone (1) will begin next week, keeping faith with the promise to release the new update on the first model by the end of August. Earlier this month, in fact, Carl Pei had announced that internal testing of the new update had already begun.
The post in question does not refer to which features will arrive specifically on Nothing Phone (1) , but we can expect that most, if not all, of the new interface introduced with Phone (2) will be ported without too many problems on the last generation smartphone.
Nothing Phone (1), launched last year with version 1 of the interface based on Android 12, was quickly updated to version 1.5 (currently we are at version 1.5.6 of Nothing OS). It is therefore a matter of a few days before the owners of this smartphone receive the 2.0 version of the software, hoping that it doesn’t worsen photographic performance as happened with the latest update for Phone (2).
