OnePlus is all set to launch its first foldable, the OnePlus Open, globally and in India later this week. Ahead of the official debut, we now have a first look at the device’s main display, crease, and hinge technology in a new video.
OnePlus Open first look revealed
YouTuber Michael Fisher for a factory tour in Shenzhen, China, where it is manufacturing the OnePlus Open foldable phone. The video revealed various details about the device including the brand’s effort regarding the phone’s durability.
OnePlus will bring a periscope lens on the back with support for 3x optical zoom. Under the hood, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device will also launch with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The OnePlus foldable phone will pack a 4800mAh battery.
It is also likely to offer 67W fast charging support out-of-the-box. In terms of software, the device to boot on Android 13 out of the box and have a layer of Oxygen OS 13.1 on top.
The device will flaunt a 6.3-inch AMOLED cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also feature a 7.8-inch foldable AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The foldable phone has a tiny hole-punch cutout at the top left corner of the foldable display for the 20MP front camera. The cover screen has a centrally aligned hole-punch cutout for the 32MP secondary front camera.
