Sony has now started rolling out the March 2024 update for the PS5 system PlayStation 5 worldwide. It is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, and PlayStation 5 slim version.
This update was first released for beta testers in select countries last month but is now available for everyone globally. The first major change in the latest PS5 system update is related to DualSense and DualSense Edge wireless controllers. Speakers on these controllers are now capable of producing higher-volume sounds. This is said to be helpful in a clearer hearing of in-game sounds and voice chat audio.
The team has further improved the noise-cancellation capabilities of DualSense. It has utilized an AI machine learning model to improve the mic input quality.
This also reduces the background noise produced through button presses and game audio. Sony says users may feel the audio coming out from the controller is louder but it can be adjusted from the control center if needed.
The last major change in the PS5 system update is the ability to adjust the PS5 power indicator brightness. A user can visit Settings -> System -> Beep and Light -> Brightness to choose their preferred option.
