WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new way that lets people share files with their friends or any contact that is close to them. WhatsApp is looking to bring an AirDrop and Quick Share avatar of file sharing for its users. The details of this feature being tested have come via WABetaInfo earlier this week. File transfer generally works with the help of Bluetooth connectivity between two devices and WhatsApp is going with the similar channel.
The messaging app will allow you to share files up to 2GB and you would probably say that instead sending files through chats using this tool might become the popular choice among users when it officially releases.
The preview of the feature suggests some complex steps have to be followed to make the transfer happen. Firstly, you need to shake the phones to start file sharing. Both the users need to be in WhatsApp’s Share files section that is likely to be introduced when the beta and the full version rolls out.
If you have the WhatsApp web beta version 2.2353.59 running on your desktop, chances are you will be able to try out the new Status update feature on the platform.
