Google developer team is rapidly working on updating, correcting and improving the applications of its main services: an example are the many new features arriving for Google Weather, YouTube Music and Google TV or the changes relating to Google Podcasts, YouTube TV and Chrome on tablets.
YouTube application for Android which is currently receiving an update that enriches its Ambient Mode.
YouTube gets aesthetic of Ambient mode
Introduced for the first time last year, this mode uses dynamic color sampling to make the app’s background color adapt to the video that is playing, replicating the effect of the light that the screens project in a dark room. On the UI side, the goal is to merge the video with the surrounding interface thanks to the dynamic graphic elements that reflect the colors shown in the video player.
A novelty welcomed positively by users but which did not entirely succeed in its intended purpose as the colors and surrounding elements of the video were too faint, so much so that the mode was almost imperceptible.
So with the update to version 18.49 of the Android app, the Big G team has decided to make the Ambient mode more lively which is now more recognizable and achieves the goal of adapting to the colors shown in the video.
