Also, the new feature, Charge Assist, was first rolled out in April in Europe in order to assist EV drivers in finding charging stations through their SYNC 4 infotainment system.
Although, the automaker has given access to various beta testers in the US. This is by having the plans to roll it out to all Ford EV owners. While, the charging feature started to be available earlier this month via an OTA update, as reported by CarsDirect.
By the time of its launch, the feature was primarily used to find the available charging stations, the speed, and cost. Also, Ford enhanced the Charge Assist feature to enable users to locate the closet charger, pay, and initiate charging all from inside their electric vehicle. It doesn’t even require the use of a smartphone app such as FordPass or any third-party option. Rather, it simply needs to open the Charge Assist app on your Ford EV infotainment, just activate it from inside. And, it will charge your FordPass credit card on file. By having this feature, several beta testers have come up with positive feedback. One of which kind is posted on X/Twitter by @Jacecraftmiller.

The tester said the feature is “Super simple. Just open Charge Assist app on your Ford EV infotainment. It finds the closest fast charger, gives you the status of each port, and allows you to activate it right from your vehicle! Charges right to your FordPass CC on file. When you don’t have P&C this is awesome.”
Therefore, once completed, the user can end the session from the vehicle or from the charger. Additionally, the feature works with any respective charger in the BlueOval Charge Network. The same comprises Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, EVgo, EV Connect, FLO, Electric Circuit, Blink, and more in the way to approach.
